Not Every Silicone Job Uses the Same Route
WYD quotes RTV casting molds, soft trays, and molded silicone parts on different routes. The short shows black molded parts in a plant crate. Name the object before you compare unit price.

On this page
Not every silicone job should use the same mold route. A casting skin, a multi-cavity tray, and a molded OEM part are different purchase objects. The short below is black molded silicone parts in a plant crate - hand check on the green floor. Quote paths: molded silicone products and RTV vs HTV.

Molded parts in a plant crate

The clip is finished molded silicone in bulk on the plant floor. Use it to see that we run OEM articles, not only food trays. It is not your drawing, your Shore callout, or a free-sample promise. Overlay jokes in a short are not the quote terms.
What we quote on different routes
- RTV casting mold - you pour resin, plaster, wax, or soap into a flexible skin. Often needs a master and sometimes a support shell. Process: RTV mold making.
- Soft tray / multi-cavity mold - we compression-mold the silicone tray you deposit or pour into. Soft-tray MOQ often starts from 20 pcs per design on applicable programs.
- Molded silicone part - the silicone is the product: gasket, keypad, cover, bumper, kitchen or industrial article. MOQ and tooling are project-based. Hub: molded products.
Steel for repeat trays later is a separate quote when geometry and volume earn it - soft tooling to production tooling.
Why the route has to match the object

| What you are buying | What has to be true |
|---|---|
| A mold you cast into | Release path, Shore for peel, and who owns the master. Unit price is not a tray price. |
| A tray for a depositor or hand pour | Pitch, tray envelope, cavity volume, loaded stiffness. Food cook belongs on the RFQ. |
| A molded silicone part | Function, Shore, color, mating parts, annual qty. Compression, LSR, or overmold follows the section - see compression molding. |
Trade-offs before you lock a process
Comparing a tray unit price to an OEM part unit price wastes a week. RTV is not a cheap steel substitute. Soft tray MOQ 20 does not apply to every HTV, LSR, or industrial tool. Free DFM reviews manufacturability; paid CAD builds or changes geometry - simple modeling can start from USD 50 per design when that scope fits.
Do not size a production PO off a crate clip alone.
Timing on a current quote

On applicable soft-mold programs:
- Reply: typically within 12 hours
- CAD / DFM: typically 1-3 business days
- Prototype: typically 3-5 business days after CAD approval
- Small batch: typically 2-3 business days after sample approval
- Standard production: typically 7-10 business days after approval
- Shipping is separate. OEM molded parts and steel tools are scheduled by project.
What to send for a quote
Say whether you need a casting mold, a tray, or a molded part. Send STEP or sample, application, Shore if known, first order quantity, and annual volume when it is an OEM article. Email the drawing or sample.
FAQ
What does the video show?
Black molded silicone parts in a plant crate, being checked by hand. It is a factory look at OEM molded product, not a candy pour.
Can you do both molds and molded parts?
Yes. Name which object you are buying so the quote picks RTV, soft tray, compression, LSR, or overmold.
Is every job MOQ 20?
No. Soft-tray programs often start from 20 pcs per design. Molded OEM parts and other routes are quoted by project.
Are custom molds free because a short says so?
No. Overlay lines in a short are not commercial terms. DFM review can be free on a complete pack; CAD and tooling are quoted.
How do we get a price?
Send the object type, the file, and the quantity. Start on molded products or RTV vs HTV, then contact.
Ready to order custom silicone molds?
Send your drawing, sample or project requirements for DFM and quotation.
