Lock gummy grams before you cut the tray

Marketing writes 3 g on the label. The pour lands at 3.8 g because ml × density never made the RFQ. Use this planner, paste the numbers into a quote, then prove outer vs center weight before soft→steel CapEx.

Line planner

Cavity ml × slurry density → finished grams

Water-fill ml is volume, not label weight. Finished grams = ml × density at deposit temperature. Hot gelatin / pectin often sits near 1.05–1.25 g/ml — measure your slurry; do not put a blog density on a nutrition panel. Outer cavities can still run ~5–8% light if the tray flexes after you lock mean grams.

Why plants run this before the steel PO

Soft platinum trays from WYD often start around MOQ 20, with prototypes usually 3–7 days after CAD. Wrong ml burns that cycle. When soft gates clear — weight window, pitch, art lock — steel stays on the same Bao'an floor since 2006.

FAQ

Is cavity water ml the same as finished gummy weight?
No. Water ml is volume. Grams = ml × slurry density at deposit temperature. Measure your slurry; do not copy a blog density onto a nutrition label.
Why can outer pieces still miss the band after mean grams look right?
Tray flex often stretches outer cavities ~5–8% light while center stays on target. Lock mean ml first, then weigh outer vs center before you CapEx steel.
Can I change grams without a new mold?
Not meaningfully. Geometry is locked in the tray. Wrong ml means remake or relabel — recipe notes will not shrink a cavity.
What is WYD MOQ for custom gummy trays?
Soft trays often start around MOQ 20 per design. Prototypes usually 3–7 business days after CAD lock. Steel / depositor tooling stays on the same Bao'an floor (plant since 2006) when soft gates clear.

Ready to lock ml, Shore, and the soft→steel path?

Send target grams, density (or “measure on sample”), fill method, and whether a depositor is planned. We typically reply within 12 hours. Complete briefs help us review Shore notes and timing.
