Steel depositor gummy tooling: when metal is the object
This service covers project-specific metal cavity plates, nests and related depositor tooling. Send the approved cavity layout, equipment interface, material requirements and acceptance criteria for review. Tooling used to manufacture a silicone component should be identified separately so the quotation covers the correct deliverable.
WYD (Room 201, Building N, Licheng Technology Industrial Park Phase III, Xinhe Avenue, Shajing, Baoan District, Shenzhen, since 2006): DFM review is free. CAD modification about $50 when the model needs lock — not a fee on every PO. Prototype 3-7 business days after CAD lock, soft-tray MOQ about 20. Steel NRE is quoted after that lock. Pitch millimetres stay on /depositor-compatible-gummy-molds/.
Name the metal object
| Object | Use this page when | Wrong twin |
|---|---|---|
| Steel depositor plate / nest | Candy still deposits; metal holds pitch and Z | A mogul starch die |
| Aluminum prototype tool | You want a faster metal check before production steel | Calling the prototype tool "production steel" |
| Still a soft tray | Art open - go back to the soft-to-steel lifecycle | Steel NRE on a moving ear |

Hypothetical: locked 4 g pocket, then steel NRE
Hypothetical path - not a named customer file
Soft tray at MOQ 20 matches the nest PDF and the 4 g pocket. Six months later the same archive quotes steel. Ownership of inserts is named on that quote. A PNG of someone else's plate is not the archive.

Steel-object FAQ
- Is this a steel candy plate or a steel tool that makes a silicone part?
- This page is the depositor plate / nest-side metal object. A compression or LSR tool that ships a rubber part is a different RFQ - say so on the form.
- Do I need a silicone prototype before ordering metal tooling?
- The validation route depends on the project. Provide an approved drawing or cavity map and the relevant equipment dimensions. Where release, portion weight or equipment fit remains uncertain, we will recommend an appropriate prototype or trial before production tooling is released.
- What stays on the soft-tray quote?
- DFM review is free. CAD modification about $50 when the model needs lock — not a fee on every PO. Prototype 3-7 business days after CAD lock. Soft-tray MOQ about 20 of the approved tray. Steel NRE is a separate line.
- Does ISO 9001 mean the steel tool is certified for food?
- No. Sailway SW21Q20552R0S is a QMS file on record; validity ended May 2026 — not shown as current. Food-contact, when the market needs it, is the document pack - not an FDA-approved factory stamp.
Send the locked tray archive if steel is the object
Nest PDF, signed weigh sheet, and who keeps inserts. We will not quote production steel from a PNG.
