Demold Method on a Compression Silicone Mold
A compression mold still fails if the peel was never drawn. The short flexes a piece in front of a press. Send the demold before steel is cut.

The press can be right and the piece still tears because the peel was never drawn. The short below is the WYD compression clip: a molded piece flexed in front of a press. The line about demolding method is the point. The piece in the hand is not your cavity, and it is not a cycle-life claim.

Press in the background, peel in the hand

Use the clip to see that compression is a heated metal tool plus a peel, not a catalog tray. Overlay text is not a Shore and not a quote. The process page is HCR molding.
Demold is part of the tool
- Where the operator's fingers start the peel.
- Whether a lip or a tab exists so the piece is not pinched in the cavity.
- Undercuts that lock a logo or a return.
- Flash land. Overflow is designed on compression. Zero-flash plastic shut-off is a different process.
Tray, skin, or molded part

| Object | Demold you should describe |
|---|---|
| Multi-cavity tray you deposit into | Peel of the product, then whether the tray itself has to flex on a nest |
| RTV skin you cast into | Slit, split, or a support shell. That path is RTV, not this press clip |
| Molded silicone article | How the part leaves the metal cavity, and who trims flash. See molded products |
We would not recommend buying a compression tool and deciding the peel after T1. Chocolate and baking jobs that need a tray still send the pour: chocolate molds. Send the drawing before steel is cut.
FAQ
Is every WYD mold compression molded?
No. RTV casting skins, soft trays, and HCR or LSR articles are different routes.
Does the clip show my press size?
No. Tonnage and plate size are quoted from the tool, not from a short.
Can you hide the parting line completely?
We place it where the piece can tolerate it. A promise of no witness line is not how compression works.
What MOQ applies?
For applicable small-batch silicone mold programs, MOQ starts from 20 pcs per design. Industrial compression tools are quoted by project.
What do you need on the RFQ?
STEP or sample, material, demold sketch if you have one, annual quantity, and first order.
Ready to order custom silicone molds?
Send your drawing, sample or project requirements for DFM and quotation.
